Joeli Vidiri funeral confirmed for Friday in Pukekohe

The funeral for legendary Counties Manukau, Blues and All Blacks winger Joeli Vidiri will take place on Friday at Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe.

The 48-year-old passed away last month in the United States and his New Zealand-based family and friends have worked to bring him home for a fitting farewell.

His funeral will take place at Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe, where he produced so many memories for rugby fans.

A private burial will follow the service.

Guests are encouraged to wear masks while vaccine passes will be required to attend the funeral and those in attendance will need to sit in bubbles as per COVID-19 regulations.

Joeli’s family would like guests to wear colours of the teams that he represented.

The funeral will be livestreamed for those unable to attend and can be viewed via the Counties Manukau Rugby and The Blues Facebook pages.

A wake will follow at Pukekohe Rugby Club – 47 Reynolds Road in Pukekohe – following the service and will follow COVID-19 protocols.
